The Sacrament of Communion

We participate in what is known as an open Communion table, meaning that anyone who professes Jesus Christ as their LORD and Savior is welcome to participate in the Communion table with us. It is important to note that there is nothing special about the elements themselves and that they don't change by some supernatural power when they are consecrated. The special thing about them is that when we partake with other believers, we are recognizing Jesus' death on the cross and that His body was broken and His blood was shed for the remission of our sins. This is a Commandment from Jesus for us to do when we gather together as a body of believers. We celebrate communion once a month, on the first Sunday of each month as well as other significant times during the Lenten calendar year.
